Mr. A Civics1: An Introduction—Listen carefully, my friends, to this information I have given you about our class together this year. I LOVE CIVICS! I love the study of our nation’s government and how it all applies to you. I have some simulations for you this year. How would you like to run for President of the US? Or became an actual delegate to the Constitutional Convention in 1787? Sounds fun and interesting doesn’t it! Be sure to polish your ‘debating’ skills for you will have some opportunities to present your side of the story when you take on the role of defense/prosecuting attorney or even the judge when we do our last unit: “You and the Law”. I really am excited about the service projects I was wondering if for one of our service projects could be a softball/baseball game for special needs kids. Were going and rooting them on this Saturday and I didn't know if I could go ahead and find out information about what all is needed for this project.

I am so excited to be in your civics class this year. I can see that we aren't doing smorgousbord this year. I think that the portfolio will be fun to create for each unit. I love how you are encouraging service projects into our civics class. I am really excited to help the community to make it a better place. I feel really good when I make a difference in the community. Civics will be so much fun in your class this year, beacuse you go beond the text books; and i learn so much more so much faster with all your creative learning teqniuques.

I cant wait for this year. As you know I had you in 6th and 7th grade and I cant wait to have you again this year. I am also very exited for the service projects and I am hoping I can go a couple more times. This year seems a little bit easier, we just have less time to do things. I cant wait for the rest of the year!!!!
